Props Editors
-- 2 min read
The prop editor lets a store owner (or admin/editor) build the shop interior in 3D, placing shelves, fridges, registers and deco, without any map editing.
Entering edit mode
Stand inside a store you own and press Page Up. The camera detaches into a freecam, the editor drawer opens, and chat is disabled to avoid key conflicts. Press Page Up again (or the drawer's exit) to leave.
The drawer
Two tabs :
- Stock : props you have available to place.
- Placed : props already in the layout, grouped by model.
Click a Stock prop to spawn one instance and immediately open the gizmo on it. The prop is only visible to you until you save — other players won't see work-in-progress placements.
Moving props : the gizmo
When a prop is selected, an engine gizmo appears. It starts in select mode; press a key to switch:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| T | Translate mode — drag the axes to move |
| R | Rotate mode — drag the rings to turn |
| Q / E | Rotate heading by ±15° |
| G | Toggle 10 cm grid snap |
| Enter | Commit the placement |
| Esc | Cancel (a freshly spawned prop is removed and refunded) |
Hold right mouse button to look around with the freecam while placing.
The bottom-right key hints panel highlights the active mode so you always know what T / R / G are doing.
Hover-to-edit
To move a prop that's already placed, aim the camera crosshair at it (a subtle aim laser shows what's under the crosshair) and click to open the gizmo on it.
Saving
Placements are local until you press Save in the drawer footer. Saving writes the layout to the server and exits edit mode; from then on every player sees the updated interior when they load the store.
Calibrating goods on shelves (advanced)
Goods rendered inside shelves/fridges are laid out on a grid. If a pack's props need fine adjustment (how items sit on each level), admins can use /smvisedit to nudge the placement live. Most buyers never need this, the defaults work for the base-game and supported packs.
